Cursive L
l is a narrow loop and a straight line down — two decisions, and both get exaggerated within a week. A cursive l is a tall letter, and it hands over to the next letter low.
This is the same renderer the generator uses. Open it with l already filled in to change size, rows and guides, then print.
How to write a cursive l
- Start at the baseline, sweep up to the top line with a narrow loop.
- Come straight back down the same path.
- Exit to the right at the baseline.
A l sits in the tall zone. Capital L drops from the top line and turns right along the baseline.
Joining l to the next letter
l exits low and flat. la, le, ll.
Where it usually goes wrong
The loop gets wide, so l looks like a balloon on a string. Narrow loop, straight descent.
Words to practise after the letter
Once the single letter holds its shape, put it into short words where it appears once: like, look, all. Type any of them into the generator above and it will lay out eight ruled rows of tracing for you.
